Actress Baek Jin Hee suggested that Choi Daniel catch the bouquet at her upcoming wedding.
On October 27, a video titled “Jin Hee, so you’re getting married too | Choi Daniel ep.11” was uploaded to the YouTube channel Choi Daniel. Actors Baek Jin Hee and Kim Min Sik appeared as guests.
In the video, Choi Daniel introduced Baek Jin Hee, saying, “Jin Hee and I worked together on the drama Jugglers in the past, which is how we connected, and we used to be under the same agency.” Baek Jin Hee agreed, adding, “That’s right. We were at the same agency, and we knew each other even before that.”
As Choi Daniel tried to recall their very first meeting, Baek Jin Hee explained, “We had a meal together with director Kim Byung Wook. You were in the second season of High Kick (High Kick Through the Roof), and I was in the third season (High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged), so the director introduced us over dinner.” Choi Daniel then remembered, replying, “Right, right.”
During the conversation, Kim Min Sik subtly brought up her marriage, asking Baek Jin Hee, “Don’t you have some good news as well? Everyone already knows.” Choi Daniel chimed in, “Everyone knows about it. She’s getting married.” As Baek Jin Hee laughed shyly and confirmed it, the two applauded and congratulated her.
Kim Min Sik then asked Choi Daniel about his own marriage plans, “Daniel, when are you getting married?” When Choi Daniel responded with surprise, Baek Jin Hee laughed and revealed, “He agreed to catch the bouquet.” Surprised, Kim Min Sik asked, “Really?” A flustered Choi Daniel teased her, saying, “Why do you keep coming onto other people’s YouTube channels and saying things like this?”
When Kim Min Sik pressed further, asking, “Are you really going to catch the bouquet?” Choi Daniel denied it, saying, “There’s no reason for me to catch the bouquet. One of your female friends should catch it.” However, Baek Jin Hee pointed at Choi Daniel and said, “He is my friend,” while Kim Min Sik agreed, “It would be fun if you caught it.”
Still puzzled, Choi Daniel asked, “Isn’t the bouquet usually caught by a friend of the bride?” Kim Min Sik countered, “You are the bride’s friend. Are you saying only women can catch it? That doesn’t matter.” Baek Jin Hee added, “In this day and age, you can be the one to break that stereotype.”
Kim Min Sik remarked, “There’s no fixed rule for that kind of thing. A man can catch it too.” Choi Daniel eventually gave in and accepted, saying, “Well, fine. It’s a celebratory occasion after all. It’s fine whether a stranger catches it or Min Sik catches it.” Kim Min Sik burst into laughter and responded, “I’m already married and have a child, so that would cause big trouble.”
Meanwhile, Baek Jin Hee will hold her wedding ceremony in Seoul on January 23 next year. Her groom-to-be is an office worker living in Canada whose English name is Henry. Following the wedding, Baek Jin Hee plans to split her time between Canada and Seoul.
