South Korean powerhouse actress Seo Hyun Jin‘s recent life update has been revealed! Her close friend, actress Jeon Hye Bin, recently shared on her personal YouTube channel that the two became friends through their 2016 hit drama Another Miss Oh. They still meet regularly and have plans to gather next week. Jeon Hye Bin jokingly shared that while they used to chat about travel—even taking a trip to Antarctica together—now, “when we meet for three hours, two hours and 45 minutes are spent talking about health, like ‘you should eat more of this’ or ‘you need to take this nutritional supplement.'”
Jeon Hye Bin also expressed heartfelt concern, mentioning that Seo Hyun Jin tends to immerse herself deeply into emotional roles, which often impacts her physical health. “Whenever she gets into character, she completely immerses herself. When her character is going through heartache, her physical body suffers too. Because she frequently plays demanding roles, her health has taken a toll, which is why she is paying extra attention to her well-being now.”

Previously, reports emerged regarding Seo Hyun Jin’s residence in a luxury villa in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, which she rented under South Korea’s jeonse (lump-sum deposit) system. The property entered auction proceedings after the landlord failed to return her deposit. She signed the initial contract in April 2020 for 2.5 billion won, and raised the deposit to 2.625 billion won upon renewal in 2022. However, after the lease expired in April 2024, the landlord still failed to return the funds. Seo Hyun Jin registered her leasehold rights in September of that year before moving out. The property experienced three failed auctions, and proceedings were temporarily suspended when the landlord filed for corporate restructuring in July last year. Following a bankruptcy declaration in December, the auction resumed, and the villa was officially sold on the 6th of this month for 2.5589 billion won. Although the final auction price fell slightly short of her lease deposit, because she had already established registered leasehold rights, she holds priority right to payment, with the exact recovered amount pending confirmation from distribution proceedings.

Seo Hyun Jin is set to make her television return with MBC’s new drama The Perfect Lie, scheduled to premiere on October 30. She portrays Kang Ji-sun, a woman who insists on uncovering the truth, opposite Yoo Yeon-seok, who plays a man insisting strictly on facts. Following a perfect first date, the two give conflicting accounts and become entangled in a storm of truth and deception. This project marks their first collaboration in ten years since Dr. Romantic. The production team shared that Seo Hyun Jin demonstrated breathtaking focus and energy on set, performing intensely in pouring rain without an umbrella—leaving the crew completely awestruck.
