Actor Ahn Jae-wook shared a delightful anecdote about singer Taeyang‘s impressive performance at their children’s kindergarten sports day.
Ahn Jae-wook appeared as a guest on tvN’s STORY entertainment program “What’s the point of leaving it?” which aired on the 15th, and showed off his pleasant talk.
On this day, Lee Young-ja asked Ahn Jae-wook, who became a late-blooming father at the age of 54, “Aren’t your kids still very young? Do you go to school events like sports days? Or do you just send your wife?”
In response, Ahn Jae-wook revealed his active participation in parenting events, saying, “I participate a lot. I even did the running race and everything.”
Ahn Jae-wook recalled, “BIGBANG’s Taeyang’s child and my second child go to the same kindergarten. Last year, during the kindergarten sports day, I looked next to me while running, and Taeyang was right there.”
He brought laughter to the set by vividly describing the scene, saying, “Taeyang was darting back and forth like a squirrel.” He then drew bursts of laughter by confessing, “Taeyang won 1st place in the race. My shoe fell off while running, so I came in 3rd.”
Ahn Jae-wook also mentioned the difference in parenting environments compared to his peers. He said, “When I meet my old classmates and talk about sports days, they say they don’t even remember them. My friends are around 56 to 57 years old; some of their children are already married, and others have already been discharged from the military.”
When Lee Young-ja asked about plans for a third child, Ahn Jae-wook firmly drew the line. He drew attention by revealing, “My wife said she hoped we wouldn’t have any more babies. So, I went to the hospital by myself and got a vasectomy. When my wife heard that story, she was so moved that her eyes welled up with tears.”
Meanwhile, the Taeyang-Min Hyo-rin couple and the Ahn Jae-wook-Choi Hyun-joo couple both reside in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Paarc Hannam, the luxury apartment where Taeyang and Min Hyo-rin live, broke records in 2023 when it was traded in the 18 billion KRW range (approximately 11.9 million USD). Hannam Hyperion, where Ahn Jae-wook and Choi Hyun-joo reside, is known to have a market trading value of around 4.7 billion KRW (approximately 3.1 million USD).
