Celebrity couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin attended the handprinting ceremony for the 47th Blue Dragon Film Awards together today, marking a rare occasion where they shared glimpses into their private lives and filming memories. Son Ye Jin’s witty and cute remarks also brought laughter to the entire venue.

Last year, Hyun Bin won Best Actor at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards for his role in Harbin, while Son Ye Jin took home Best Actress for No Other Choice. With both stars also winning the Popular Star Award, the couple took home a total of four trophies that evening. Reflecting on the filming process of Harbin, Hyun Bin revealed that An Jung-geun made a major sacrifice for his country when he was only in his 30s, which led him to constantly ask himself, “If it were me, could I have done that?” He added that the final scene depicted his character walking to the execution ground. After filming wrapped, a wave of emotions washed over him, taking a long time to process and calm down.

Upon hearing her husband share his thoughts on that period, Son Ye Jin laughingly revealed that Hyun Bin lost a lot of weight during filming. While she understood how difficult it was to portray a historical figure, she couldn’t help but joke, “Since I had just given birth back then, I felt like I was the one having a harder time!” Looking back at those days, however, she reflected that those experiences helped them grow into more mature actors and gave them the opportunity to become better parents.

When asked about their first conversation after winning last year, Hyun Bin smiled and recalled that they simply congratulated each other. Since it was already very late when they arrived home, it wasn’t until the next day that their son saw the trophies and curiously asked, “Are these the awards you brought back?” After inspecting the trophies, he even offered his congratulations to his mom and dad—an innocent gesture that was utterly charming.

Son Ye Jin shared that the two embraced and celebrated their rare double win together that night, adding that she hopes to play the recording of that moment for their son when he grows up. She playfully added, “Right now, he’s so young that he doesn’t think his mom and dad are anything special, but when he grows up, he’ll probably start looking up to us!” Her adorable comments drew laughter from the audience once again, adding warmth to the memory of their shared victories. The 47th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony will take place on November 25 at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul.
