Former BIGBANG member T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun) has personally stepped forward to apologize! After “ChoiSeungHyun.com”—a dedicated fan site that accompanied him for nearly 20 years—announced it was shutting down amid communication breakdowns with his agency and allegations of unappreciated fan dedication, T.O.P finally broke his silence after three weeks to express his gratitude and regret to his longtime supporters.
On November 1, T.O.P posted a lengthy letter on social media. He emotionally shared that even during times when he found it difficult to believe in himself, fans still chose to trust him, giving him the strength to create music once again. He confessed, “I will never forget the precious sincerity of the fans for the rest of my life.” He expressed special gratitude to the fan site’s operating team for their selfless dedication over the years, hoping that their cherished shared memories would not leave behind regret due to misunderstandings. Lastly, he offered a sincere apology to the operating team and fans who were hurt by the situation.
In fact, “ChoiSeungHyun.com” had been active since August 24, 2006, standing by T.O.P for nearly 20 years before announcing its closure on October 9. At the time, the fan site team pointed out a persistent lack of communication from T.O.P and his agency. They revealed that after a commemorative exhibition for his first solo full-length album was canceled due to poor ticket sales and an inability to cover costs, the agency failed to handle the matter properly and allegedly shifted blame onto the fan site team, leaving members heartbroken over their years of unrequited efforts.

Now that T.O.P has personally apologized, eyes are on whether this belated response can win back fans’ hearts. Following the release of his apology, discussions quickly flared up across Korean online communities. Netizens left mixed reactions, stating: “Even if it’s a bit late, it’s good that he was willing to convey his true feelings. Grow up a bit, stop hiding, and show some courage,” “I feel it came a bit too late,” “It feels like this happened so long ago, why apologize only now?” “Is he only feeling regretful now because he lost them? Really, stop exploiting fans’ unpaid labor,” and “He should have cherished what he had while he still had it.”
Marking his 20th anniversary since debut this year, T.O.P released his first solo full-length album, ANOTHER DIMENSION, as he continues his solo music activities. On the romantic front, he officially acknowledged his relationship with singer-actress Nana (formerly of After School) on October 2, with their relationship attracting significant public attention ever since.
