Yoo Hyun Chul and Kim Seul Gi, who have weathered numerous twists and turns—ranging from breakup rumors to allegations of assault—are finally holding their wedding ceremony. However, ahead of their fresh start, a barrage of malicious comments referencing divorce instead of well wishes is drawing sharp criticism.
Yoo Hyun Chul, known from Love After Divorce 3, and Kim Seul Gi (formerly “Ok-soon” on Season 10 of I Am Solo) will hold their wedding ceremony on October 24, surrounded by the blessings of family and close friends. This comes three years after they registered their marriage and became a legally married couple.
Previously, the couple announced their wedding on social media, sharing: “Although we were already living together as a family with our children, we wanted to hold an occasion to formally share our marriage with our loved ones and receive their blessings.”
However, on what should have been a happy wedding day, some netizens’ reactions remained cold.

Comments on related articles included negative reactions questioning the future of their marriage, such as: “How can you trust a man who always fights and then cuts off communication?”, “I bet talk of divorce will pop up again,” and “Calling off an engagement is better than getting divorced.”
These reactions appear to stem from the couple’s past publicly exposed conflicts.
Indeed, the two previously sparked breakup rumors after unfollowing each other and deleting photos on social media. Appearing on the tvN STORY program Lee Ho-seon Counseling Center this past May, they even confessed to having severed all communication for nearly 10 months.
At the time, Kim Seul Gi shed tears, saying, “I even thought that living alone would be better,” while Yoo Hyun Chul revealed that he felt betrayed when divorce was mentioned, leading him to consult a lawyer about potential litigation.
Just last month, ahead of the wedding, photos showing dark blue bruises around Kim Seul Gi’s eyes were released, sparking suspicions of domestic violence by her husband.

However, Kim Seul Gi personally refuted the allegations, clarifying: “People asked if my husband hit me, but that’s not true. I slipped in the bathroom.” She explained that she got injured after falling in the bathroom after drinking alcohol, emphasizing, “It is absolutely not the reason many people are assuming.” She added that her husband bought her medicine and that hospital checks confirmed no broken bones.
Having overcome both breakup crises and groundless assault allegations, the couple restored their relationship and prepared for their wedding. Yet, with comments continuing to bring up divorce right before their new beginning, critics argue that such relentless public backlash over their private life goes too far.
Meanwhile, Yoo Hyun Chul and Kim Seul Gi went public with their relationship in 2022, building a remarriage household with one child each. The couple expressed their commitment to cherishing, loving, and living happily together as a family of four.
