Rapper Yang Hong Won, who recently tied the knot with model Won Hyun Joo, was hit with a major scandal after infidelity allegations surfaced just five days into his marriage. Controversy is escalating as the whistleblower made no secret that their motives were “money and attention.”
During an Instagram live stream on October 23, Whistleblower A stated, “Does loyalty feed you? Does loyalty give you money?” adding, “If you abandon a little bit of that loyalty, your bank account balance changes. Who keeps loyalty these days?” They continued, “Whether this is true or not is for you to decide, and if it’s not, then whatever,” before concluding the broadcast with, “I’m doing this because I want attention and money. Do you know how much my follower count has grown during this stream? It’s completely worth it.”
Previously, Person A raised infidelity allegations against Yang Hong Won by posting on social media, “A newlywed groom who just got married went to a motel with a woman.” Person A not only exposed the face and account handle of the woman allegedly accompanying him, but also posted a screenshot of a direct message (DM) sent directly to Yang Hong Won’s wife, Won Hyun Joo.
Furthermore, Person A released an audio recording of a phone call with Yang Hong Won alongside video footage taken during a visit to Suwon. In the disclosed phone call, when Person A demanded, “I need allowance money,” Yang Hong Won responded with a sigh, saying, “Don’t do bad things. Did you come to my wedding?”
However, the contents and claims disclosed so far remain unilateral assertions from the whistleblower’s side, with specific facts yet to be verified. In light of Person A’s statements admitting that money and attention were their goals, some are raising doubts about the authenticity of the exposure, drawing intense attention to Yang Hong Won’s upcoming official position.
Meanwhile, Yang Hong Won rose to fame after winning Mnet’s High School Rapper in 2017 and solidified a strong presence in the hip-hop scene through his appearances on the Show Me the Money series. Building his discography with an unrivaled tone and tight rapping style, he had been dating his longtime partner Won Hyun Joo since 2017. The couple welcomed a daughter in November 2024 and officially held their wedding on October 18, about two years later. However, right after the wedding, Yang Hong Won sparked controversy by posting on social media, “Hyun Joo, I love you. I still feel like I’m walking into the OOO motel in Cheonho-dong.” With infidelity allegations erupting just five days after the wedding, he is now facing severe backlash.
