Actor couple Park Se Young and Kwak Jung Wook shared the love story behind their eight years of dating and five years of marriage.
On the afternoon of October 21, actor couple Park Se Young and Kwak Jung Wook, alongside their daughter Nael, made their first appearance on KBS2’s variety show The Return of Superman.
The two first met on the set of the 2013 drama School 2013, eventually becoming romantic partners and marrying after eight years of dating. However, Kwak Jung Wook shared, “I think many people assume our romance blossomed back during School 2013, but at the time, we were merely aware of each other’s existence. I didn’t even have her phone number.” Park Se Young agreed, adding, “We were really not close at all.”
After getting closer through gatherings with mutual acquaintances, the two bonded over their shared faith at church and naturally developed a romantic relationship. However, they revealed that reactions from those around them were less than encouraging. Park Se Young confessed, “People around us often asked, ‘He gives off a sharp impression—are you sure you’re okay with that?'” Kwak Jung Wook added to everyone’s surprise, “She’s actually putting that very mildly. People literally said, ‘Why are you dating someone like him?’ and ‘You shouldn’t marry a guy like that.'”
Kwak Jung Wook then joked, “In reality, she’s the bossy one here,” to which Park Se Young acknowledged with a laugh, “In reality, my husband is quite obedient.”
