On the 8th, BLACKPINK met with fans at the ‘Meet & Greet’ event held at the National Museum of Korea to mark their 10th debut anniversary. Although controversy arose regarding alleged mistreatment of fans due to friction during the event—such as reports that the scale was small for a 10th anniversary and that only some members were attending—all BLACKPINK members gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary with their fans.
After the event, Jisoo received handwritten letters from fans and even shed tears. As Jisoo poured out the tears she had been holding back, fans sent her even greater support and encouragement. This tearful moment was particularly heartbreaking for fans, as she is not usually the type to cry. This is because she was the only member who personally apologized when the controversy regarding the mistreatment of fans first arose.
On the 8th, ahead of the event, Jisoo apologized via a fan communication platform, stating, “I feel like this anniversary is a day filled with deep regret. Over the past 10 years, as a member of BLACKPINK and as Jisoo, I have gone through many ups and downs, but I always wanted to show only my best side and be someone who brings happiness during difficult moments. However, seeing so many BLINKs upset makes my heart heavy.” She added, “Thank you for congratulating us on our 10th anniversary, and I am sorry once again for causing you such great disappointment.”
During a live broadcast held with the other members just before the event, Jisoo also apologized, saying, “I was well aware that it was the 10th anniversary and that it was an important day, but there was a problem in the process of communication. I feel very sorry.”
