On the May 31 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s Mr. House Husband, veteran entertainer Ji Sang-ryeol shared a surprising story involving top actress Han Ji-min and her real-life older sister, whose beauty, he claimed, may even surpass the star’s.
While rehearsing a surprise vow renewal ceremony for his older brother and sister-in-law with singer Shinji, Ji Sang-ryeol was asked by Eun Ji-won, “Didn’t you once host Han Ji-min’s sister’s wedding?”
Ji Sang-ryeol confirmed the story, explaining, “I became close with Han Ji-min while we were filming the historical drama ‘Lee San, Wind of the Palace.’ One day, she told me her sister was getting married and asked if I could host the ceremony. But when I saw her sister during the wedding, I thought, ‘She’s even prettier than Han Ji-min.’”
The revelation sparked laughter from fellow cast members. Baek Ji-young chimed in playfully, “When people go to weddings like that, they usually get introduced to someone. Did you meet anyone?” She then teased, “Was Han Ji-min especially close to you? Did you think she saw you differently?”
Ji Sang-ryeol jokingly replied, “I wondered, why me, of all people? There were so many great people around her. Maybe she was interested in me,” making everyone laugh at his self-deprecating humor.
Han Ji-min’s older sister has long been known for her exceptional beauty. According to reports, even her son, Han Ji-min’s nephew, is said to be so handsome that many believe he could debut as an idol on looks alone.
In past interviews, Han Ji-min herself has acknowledged her sister’s beauty and popularity growing up. “She was famous for being pretty. People would always say I was ‘so-and-so’s younger sister.’ My sister was extroverted and I was shy, so I actually thought she would become a celebrity, not me.”
Han Ji-min’s sister, who is two years her senior, has appeared in a few previously released family photos. Rumors have even circulated that her sister once received casting offers from the entertainment industry, though she ultimately chose a different path.
