Former After School member and actress Nana (Im Jin Ah) recently confirmed her relationship with former BIGBANG member T.O.P, only to face malicious attacks from certain netizens. In response, she took to her Instagram account on November 5 to express her feelings, urging the public to respect her choices and private life.
Nana shared that throughout her 17-year career—no matter how busy her schedule was or during hiatuses with no updates—a loyal group of fans has quietly waited for and supported her. Even during moments of feeling low or anxious, she has consistently taken every job seriously and strived to do her best. Expressing deep gratitude for her fans’ selfless love and wish for her happiness, she emphasized how much she cherishes this bond and hopes to bring them happiness in return.
However, addressing those who ignore her freedom of choice and post malicious comments under the guise of being “fans,” Nana directly confronted them: “What major wrong did I actually commit? Did you suffer any loss because of me? Did my actions cause any moral issues?” She stressed that her romantic life is her personal affair and her own life, stating that neither dating nor choosing to publicly acknowledge it requires an apology to anyone.
Rather than the criticism directed at herself, Nana expressed greater concern for her supporting fans being hurt in the process. She made a direct plea: “Please do not hurt the fans who love and respect Nana as a person, setting aside my identity as a celebrity, and please stop causing them distress.” Lastly, she apologized to fans who have quietly endured these negative voices, promising to remember every word of encouragement and support to repay them as a better version of herself.
Nana and T.O.P officially confirmed their relationship this past October.
