Danielle, a former member of NewJeans, drew significant attention by releasing a self-composed track on the anniversary of the fan club, Bunnies.
At midnight on October 29, Danielle posted a 1-minute and 34-second video on her YouTube channel featuring her singing her original song “Stay.” The news comes amid an ongoing legal dispute regarding her exclusive contract with her former agency, ADOR.

“Stay” is an acoustic guitar-driven folk-pop track that showcases Danielle’s clean, delicate vocal tone. The English lyrics convey a desire to reclaim past emotions and a commitment to fighting for what matters most, featuring lines expressing hopes that time will restore needed feelings and a belief in turning things around through fighting desperately.
Several music and video creators collaborated on the release. Danielle personally wrote and composed the track, while Jung Seok-hoon played guitar and producer Z handled mixing. The video was edited by director DEE (Shin Dong-gle).
Director Shin previously directed music videos for NewJeans’ hit tracks, including “Hype Boy,” “Cookie,” and “Supernatural.”

The timing of the song’s release also caught fan attention, as October 29 marks a meaningful date for the fandom. NewJeans officially announced their fan club name on October 29, 2022, marking their 100th day since debut, and fans have celebrated the date as “Bunnies Day” ever since.
Meanwhile, Danielle remains entangled in a legal battle over her exclusive contract with ADOR. In November 2024, the members of NewJeans declared the termination of their contracts, alleging breaches by ADOR. However, the court ruled in October last year that the exclusive contracts remained valid.
Subsequently, ADOR notified Danielle of contract termination last December and filed a lawsuit against Danielle, former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, and others for penalty damages and compensation. The claim against Danielle is reportedly valued at approximately 33 billion KRW (approx. $24 million USD).
This self-composed track marks her first release since receiving the contract termination notice. Danielle is currently promoting independently without agency representation.
