The upcoming Korean drama Gift, starring Kim Woo Bin and Seo Eun Soo, is preparing to make its debut, with official photos from the script reading newly released.
Set to premiere on December 5, tvN’s new weekend drama Gift (written by Moon Min-jung, directed by Kim Kyu-tae) follows Jung Min-yong (played by Kim Woo Bin), a former professional baseball pitching coach who acquires special abilities following an unexpected accident. After being appointed head coach of a bottom-ranked high school baseball team, he navigates a series of events while helping characters discover answers at the intersection of talent and effort. The series is adapted from the popular Kakao Webtoon baseball webtoon of the same name by author Jeong I-ri I-ri.

Kim Woo Bin plays Jung Min-yong, formerly a pitching coach for the professional baseball team Manders. After being falsely accused and labeled a verbally abusive coach, he suffers a serious accident. Following the incident, he begins seeing a unique “Gift,” which leads him to take charge of the Dukcheon High School baseball team.

In addition to Kim Woo Bin, the script reading was attended by Seo Eun Soo (playing Yoon Seo-jin), Seo Hyun Woo (playing Ahn Ki-man), Kim Won Hae (playing the principal), Yang Hyun Min (playing Coach Yang), Hyun Bong Sik (playing Son Hyung), Park Sang Nam (playing Oh Dong-jae), Lee Bong Ryun (playing Seung-il’s mother), and Park Ji A (playing Chae-hwan’s mother).

The young actors portraying the Dukcheon High School baseball team were also present, including Cha Bin (playing team captain Heo Seung-il), Han Shi-hyun (playing Cha Tae-hoon), Park Sung-hyun (playing Lim Chae-hwan), Han Tae-ha (playing Oh Tan-hee), and Kim Geun-woo (playing Kim Chan-young). The team members energized the set by shouting their spirited cheer: “All we have is victory! DC, DC, Dukcheon, Dukcheon, We Are The One!”
Sharing his thoughts on the script reading, Kim Woo Bin said, “Today was the first time all the actors met and greeted one another, and the atmosphere on set was genuinely fantastic. The students filled the room with so much energy, and thanks to them, the script reading wrapped up smoothly.”
Seo Eun Soo stars as Yoon Seo-jin, the baseball team manager who works tirelessly to protect the team and its players. She expressed, “During the reading, I felt that Kim Woo Bin was completely in sync with the character of Jung Min-yong. I’m really looking forward to the many scenes we’ll work on together.” Highlighting key points of the drama, Seo Eun Soo noted that the conflict between Min-yong—who focuses solely on results—and Seo-jin—who values the process just as much—alongside the growth of the young players along the way, are major highlights to watch out for.

Seo Hyun Woo portrays Ahn Ki-man, the interim head coach of the Manders. He is a results-driven figure who evaluates players strictly through statistics and stands directly in opposition to Jung Min-yong. Seo Hyun Woo commented, “The energy from the Dukcheon High School actors was amazing. Even though it was our first time meeting, they were so full of positive energy that it made me genuinely want to coach them.”
Wrapping up the script reading, Kim Woo Bin greeted future viewers: “We will channel everyone’s cheerful energy to create an enjoyable production. We hope you look forward to it and connect with us through the show.”
Gift will premiere on December 5 at 9:10 PM.
