KBS2’s weekend drama A Love Other Than Yours has sparked intense controversy over its dialogue!
In the latest episode, Lee Mi Do (played by Ahn Eun Jin) steps in to defend Han Tae-seung (played by Lee Joo Ahn) by warning another lawyer, “I’m going to sexually harass you within one minute.” The scene immediately erupted into controversy across South Korean online communities, with viewers slamming the production for using sexual harassment as a “cathartic clapback.”

In that scene, Han Tae-seung gets into an argument with a fellow attorney, who confronts him: “Stop ruining the dignity of lawyers. Stop scraping by through wining, dining, and illicit favors. To be honest, I’m embarrassed to share the same profession as you.” Han Tae-seung fires back: “Embarrassed? Losing a case is what’s embarrassing. Unlike you, I don’t have judges or prosecutors for parents. If I don’t want to lose, I have to grit my teeth and do whatever it takes.” The colleague sarcastically responds: “Right, you’ve even killed a person, so doing filthy, underhanded tricks must be a piece of cake for you.”

As a furious Han Tae-seung prepares to throw a punch, Lee Mi Do steps between them and threatens the colleague: “I’m going to sexually harass you in one minute. If you don’t get lost right now, I’ll pull down your pants and humiliate you to death right here. If I get serious, stripping off your underwear is nothing to me. Seriously, I’m very strong.”
While the scene was intended to demonstrate solidarity and mutual support between Han Tae-seung and Lee Mi Do, the inappropriate dialogue backfired, drawing a wave of severe criticism. Viewers questioned whether framing sexual harassment and forced stripping as a “satisfying retaliation” was appropriate. Netizens voiced outrage, commenting: “It’s 2026—how can a female character still say lines like ‘I’m going to sexually harass you’? Does that make any sense?”, “Sexual harassment is a crime, yet it’s being used as a heroic rescue tool. It’s completely bizarre,” “The dialogue and direction are both terrible,” “Saving the supporting actor is fine, but did she really have to say that to save him?”, and “I wasn’t interested before, and now I definitely won’t watch it.” Public backlash focused heavily on the writer and director.

Viewership for the drama has been falling continuously since its 2.6% debut, dipping further to 1.8% for Episodes 9 and 10—setting new personal low records and dealing another heavy blow alongside the dialogue scandal.
