Park Bo-gum, Kim Yoo-jung, Jinyoung, Chae Soo-bin, and Kwak Dong-yeon recently reunited. The five actors gathered for ELLE Korea’s special September edition to mark the 10th anniversary of Love in the Moonlight.
Originally released in 2016, the coming-of-age historical romance became a massive hit. Viewers especially loved the youthful cast and the vibrant chemistry between Park Bo-gum and Kim Yoo-jung.
For the anniversary shoot, the cast returned to a traditional Korean setting. They wore elegant hanbok and posed together inside a classic hanok. The reunion highlighted their growth over the past decade, giving fans a heartwarming look back at the series.
Park Bo-gum, who played Crown Prince Lee Young, expressed his excitement. “Everyone looks just like they did when we first met,” he shared. “I’m really happy that we can wear hanbok again and capture who we are today.”
He expressed deep gratitude for the fans who still love the drama after ten years. He also noted how special it felt to showcase Korean culture through traditional clothing once again.
Park Bo-gum also recalled a memorable line spoken by Kim Yoo-jung’s character, Hong Ra-on. He shared that the love viewers gave Lee Young still fuels his career today. Finally, he wished that his co-stars’ youth would continue to shine brightly like moonlight.
Kim Yoo-jung was only 17 years old when she played Hong Ra-on. She explained that Ra-on’s name means “joyful” in native Korean. She described her character as someone who brought warmth to everyone around her.
Reflecting on the past decade, Kim Yoo-jung shared that she has built strong inner strength. She now has the courage to face tough situations directly and keep moving forward.
Jinyoung played Kim Yoon-sung in the drama. He shared that he never wants to lose his love for people. He also offered a sweet message to his co-stars: “Let’s stay together for a long, long time.”
Maintaining a close bond for ten years is rare in the industry. Jinyoung expressed his gratitude that all five members still support each other’s careers and stay in touch.
Chae Soo-bin reflected on her character, Jo Ha-yeon. She remembered Ha-yeon as a confident woman who boldly chose her own path. To her younger self from ten years ago, she said: “You’re doing well, you’ll do well, and you’ll live well.”
Kwak Dong-yeon, who recently enlisted in the military, left a short message for his 20-year-old self: “Don’t be scared.” He recalled giving his absolute best to every scene during filming. He also lightheartedly told his co-stars he would protect the country until 2028, telling them not to worry about him.
The reunion sparked enthusiastic reactions online. Fans praised the cast’s stunning hanbok visuals and celebrated their lasting friendship.
