Song Kang and Kim So-hyun are set to reunite in the romantic drama series White Scandal. Consequently, this marks their first collaboration since their memorable chemistry in the hit Netflix series Love Alarm (2021) five years ago.

On August 25, the production team of White Scandal officially announced that both actors have confirmed their roles. Naturally, this news sparked great excitement among fans waiting for their reunion.

White Scandal is adapted from the popular web novel of the same name. Specifically, it tells a healing romance story between Dan Yi-hyuk (played by Song Kang) and Ji Eun-seol (played by Kim So-hyun). Yi-hyuk is a top actor and third-generation chaebol heir who rejects his inheritance. Meanwhile, Eun-seol is a washed-up former child actress. Eventually, the two enter a fake relationship and begin healing their buried past wounds together.
Fans are eager to see their updated chemistry. Previously, the duo portrayed a bright youth romance. However, this project presents them as mature adults facing deep emotional trauma. Therefore, viewers can expect a richer and more complex storyline.
Song Kang plays Dan Yi-hyuk, a top Korean actor and third-generation chaebol heir. Born as an illegitimate child, he grew up fulfilling his grandfather’s strict expectations. While he is a superstar on camera, he remains a controlled heir behind the scenes. In short, to escape taking over the family business, he starts a fake relationship with Eun-seol.
On the other hand, Kim So-hyun plays Ji Eun-seol, a former child star who fell from grace due to an unfortunate event. Although she once received immense love, she currently works as a celebrity manager. Nevertheless, she never abandons her passion for acting. When she reunites with Yi-hyuk—the central figure of her past—she must finally face long-buried secrets.
Currently, White Scandal is in pre-production and will begin filming soon. Fans are looking forward to further updates on this project.
