Jennie of the group BLACKPINK revealed her strengthened self-confidence as she embraces her body just the way it is.

On August 3, fashion magazine Cosmopolitan released its cover feature and interview with Jennie.

Jennie debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016, releasing hits such as “Whistle,” “Playing with Fire,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Shut Down,” and “Jump.” She launched her solo career in 2018 with “SOLO,” released her first full-length album Ruby last year, and followed up with the single “Less Than a Lover” last month.

Reflecting on her recent journey, Jennie shared, “To be honest, the past year has been truly hectic. I never had a moment to sit down, adapt to the changes, and fully take in what Ruby brought into my life.”

Jennie also mentioned that she is paying closer attention to her mind and body than before. “I’m becoming friends with my body,” she confessed. “There were definitely parts I felt insecure about. Because I have a very small frame, I felt pressured early in my career to make myself appear bigger.”

She continued, “However, I’m now learning to love my body as it is and discovering which styles suit my body type best. I feel much more confident in myself than before.”

She also expressed deep affection for her fellow BLACKPINK members, emphasizing that their bond remains unchanged given the time they have spent together. She expressed gratitude that they can still lean on one another, even as each member walks her own independent path.

“I grew up with the members,” Jennie said. “We were always together through hard times and good times. We looked out for each other and exchanged advice. That’s why I’ve never felt lost.”
