ITZY member Ryujin, who recently drew online attention for adjusting her outfit during a live performance, has personally addressed the situation and offered a sincere apology.
Speaking directly to fans during a live broadcast on July 19th, Ryujin addressed the viral moment: “I have received many messages and heard various opinions about the incident,” she said. “I am deeply sorry for causing concern and discomfort due to my actions on stage.”
The incident took place during ITZY’s concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, part of their 3rd World Tour ‘TUNNEL VISION’. Ryujin explained that the form-fitting jumpsuit she wore was riding up continuously throughout the show, causing severe physical discomfort.
“The jumpsuit kept riding up and was causing a lot of pain,” Ryujin shared. “I tried to fix it in the heat of the moment without thinking properly. When I reviewed the video footage later, even I was surprised—it really looked like my hand went in much further than intended.”
With a lighthearted smile, she continued: “Looking back, it did look a bit awkward,” before bowing her head to apologize once again. “I should have been much more careful while on stage. I am truly sorry to our fans.”
Footage of the moment spread rapidly across social media platforms shortly after the concert. Responses from netizens were divided: while many showed empathy, noting that wardrobe malfunctions and extreme wardrobe discomfort are common on stage, others felt the action was inappropriate during a live performance.
Reflecting on the situation, Ryujin admitted: “The outfit was so tight that it made things really difficult, but I realize I need to maintain better professionalism in public settings and on stage. I will ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
