Actress Go Min Si, who previously denied allegations of school bullying, is preparing to return to the screen with Netflix’s upcoming series Dead-End Job after approximately one year and two months. However, she was noticeably absent from the promotional events at the 31st Busan International Film Festival.

In contrast, her co-star Lee Jae Wook, who is currently serving in the military, took leave to attend the festival and show his support for the production.

Scheduled to premiere on Netflix on October 30, Dead-End Job is a survival horror series centered on a mysterious employment agency that offers seemingly irresistible part-time jobs paying up to 50 times the standard hourly wage. The story follows Hyuk-joon, a young man who finds himself thrown into nightmarish workplaces while desperately trying to earn a living.

The series was officially invited to the “On Screen” section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival, which showcases highly anticipated new television and streaming productions.

On October 8, lead actor Lee Jae Wook attended the open talk event for Dead-End Job as an audience member at the outdoor stage of the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae. Having enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army in May, the actor reportedly used his military leave to visit Busan and support the drama in which he plays a leading role.

However, Go Min Si did not make an appearance at this year’s Busan International Film Festival. The actress had temporarily suspended her entertainment activities following school bullying allegations that surfaced last year. On August 30 of that year, she personally addressed the controversy through a statement posted on social media.

At the time, Go Min Si acknowledged that she had not always behaved maturely during her school years, but firmly denied engaging in school violence.

“It is true that I was immature during my school days, and I have many regrets. However, I can state with absolute certainty that I never committed school bullying,” she wrote. “I know better than anyone that I was a reckless student who enjoyed breaking the rules, but that does not mean I deserve to be falsely accused.”

The actress reiterated her denial, emphasizing, “I absolutely and categorically have never engaged in school violence.” She also argued that there was no clear evidence supporting the allegations beyond anonymous posts circulating in online communities.

Go Min Si further criticized the spread of unverified rumors, stating, “Reckless rumors circulating on the internet can completely destroy a person’s life. It is cruel and horrifying.” Maintaining her innocence, she added, “The truth will inevitably come to light.”

With her new Netflix series set to premiere approximately one year and two months after her public explanation, attention is now turning to Go Min Si’s next steps and how she will resume her entertainment career following the controversy.
