Four Hands, Two Sonatas follows teenagers at Korea Arts High School. Specifically, this institution gathers top musical geniuses together. The story begins with Kang Be-o, an elite pianist ranking first in academics and music. However, he soon meets Choi Jeong-yo, a transfer student with extraordinary raw talent. Consequently, Jeong-yo’s arrival shakes Be-o’s confidence deeply. His top spot is threatened because natural talent appears to require little effort.
Meanwhile, viola major Hong Jae-in becomes a key factor in their dynamics. Together, the trio grows up while navigating complex emotions. The story spans a full decade. It traces their journey from high school to age 27.
Song Kang plays Kang Be-o, an elite piano major and top student. He holds the number one spot in both academics and music. Be-o practices relentlessly to maintain his rank. He deeply desires acceptance from his family.
Lee Jun-young plays Choi Jeong-yo, a naturally gifted piano prodigy. A childhood incident forced him to walk away from music. However, he returns to the piano because of Kang Be-o. Unlike Be-o, Jeong-yo plays purely by instinct.
