On August 23, Gong Minzy shared photos taken at BIGBANG’s concert on her social media. The photos showed BIGBANG members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung posing alongside 2NE1 members CL, Sandara Park, and Gong Minzy.
The sight of the six members standing side by side and posing for the camera with the concert stage in the background held a special meaning for fans.
The reunion drew particular attention because of “Lollipop,” the iconic collaboration song the two groups released in 2009 as a promotional track for a mobile phone commercial. The song firmly established the presence of both groups in the music industry.
In the “Lollipop” music video, the two groups created strong synergy through colorful visuals and energetic performances. After eventually pursuing individual paths and cementing their status as some of K-pop’s biggest legends, the members reunited in a rare moment after 17 years.
However, 2NE1’s Park Bom was absent from the gathering, leaving some fans feeling a bit disappointed.
Social media was flooded with nostalgic comments such as, “This reminds me of the Lollipop era,” “I never thought we would see these members together again,” and “It doesn’t feel like 17 years have passed.”
To commemorate their 20th anniversary, BIGBANG held performances for their new world tour, “XX: COSMOS,” at Goyang Stadium from August 21 to August 23, drawing more than 100,000 spectators across the three-day concert.
