MBC’s new action-drama series A Bona Fide Killer, starring Gong Hyo-jin and Jung Joon-won, is off to a hot start in its first week with ratings reaching 8.0%. As a result, there is high anticipation of hitting double digits in its second week.

According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 1 of A Bona Fide Killer, which aired on July 31, 2026, achieved an average nationwide rating of 7.4%. Its Metropolitan (Seoul) area rating was 6.8%. The episode drew 1.395 million viewers in South Korea.

Meanwhile, Episode 2, aired on August 1, saw a further increase in ratings, recording an average nationwide rating of 8.0%. Its Metropolitan area rating reached 7.9%. As a result, total South Korean TV viewership rose to 1.603 million. The series got off to a strong start with high ratings and a captivating storyline.

Now she must carefully navigate life as an ordinary office worker to protect the hard-won peace of her family. Amidst dangers surrounding her from all sides, her husband Kwon Tae-sung (played by Jung Joon-won), a young reporter, is actively trying to uncover the identity of the mysterious assassin. He is unaware that his target is the very wife he lives with every day. Drama fans can follow this intense storyline every Friday and Saturday night at 21:50 KST on MBC.
