NewJeans’ Haerin is accelerating her return to public activities. Following a fashion magazine shoot, the singer is set to attend an official photo-call event, drawing renewed attention to NewJeans’ future plans as she expands her individual activities after returning to ADOR.
Haerin will attend the photo-call event for Christian Dior Beauty’s “Rouge Dior On Stage” pop-up at the Avenuel branch of Lotte Department Store in Jamsil, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The event is also expected to feature Kim Yuna, Nam Joo-hyuk, Red Velvet’s Joy, Shin Ye-eun, Kim Jae-won, and models Irene and Bae Yoon-young, among others.
The upcoming appearance has attracted attention because it marks Haerin’s return to an official offline event after recently resuming activities through a fashion magazine pictorial.
Haerin recently graced the cover of the September issue of Marie Claire. It was her first magazine cover shoot in approximately a year and six months, following her previous appearance in February of last year. It also marked her first individual activity since returning following her exclusive-contract dispute with ADOR. In a video released alongside the pictorial, Haerin warmly greeted fans, saying, “I reunited with Marie Claire after a long time and shot the September issue.”
By taking on consecutive schedules, from the magazine pictorial to the photo-call event, Haerin appears to be the first of the returning members to resume full-fledged public activities. As a result, attention is also focused on whether her individual activities could lead to NewJeans’ group promotions.
NewJeans had been embroiled in a dispute with their agency ADOR over their exclusive contracts. The group laid the groundwork to resume team activities after Haerin and Hyein returned in November of last year, followed by Hanni in December. Minji is currently continuing discussions with the agency regarding her return.
In particular, all four members—Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein—appeared together in a special film released to mark NewJeans’ fourth debut anniversary, attracting significant attention from global fans. Speculation also continued that the members might be preparing new content or working on music after Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni were spotted overseas.
However, the exact timing and format of NewJeans’ comeback remain unknown. ADOR has also maintained a cautious stance, stating, “We will provide an update once specific plans and details regarding their music activities have been finalized.”
Against this backdrop, Haerin’s expansion from magazine appearances to official public events has once again brought attention to NewJeans’ activities. Fans are watching closely to see whether her individual return will lead to the group’s full-scale resumption of promotions.
Meanwhile, Danielle, whose contract was terminated, remains involved in a legal dispute with ADOR concerning her contract and related matters.
