On the September 17 broadcast of MBC Radio’s Sohn Suk-hee’s Questions (12 O’Clock Spot), The Intern stars Choi Min Sik and Han So Hee appeared as guests. During the conversation, host Sohn Suk-hee asked Choi, “Was there anything you learned from Han So Hee outside of the movie? I heard you suggested that everyone should forget about rank and seniority while filming.” Choi replied, “There’s something I envy—youth.” He continued, “I envy that raw, pure energy that can only come from young people.”
Listening to the conversation, Sohn Suk-hee turned to Han So Hee and remarked, “I’m actually a little older than Choi Min-sik.” Seeing her surprised expression, he added, “You don’t have to be that amazed. From the perspective of the two of us, we envy you.” Han So Hee initially responded politely, saying, “Thank you,” before unexpectedly joking, “Well, there’s no order when it comes to dying.” As Sohn Suk-hee burst into laughter, Han immediately realized how her comment had sounded. She waved her hands, bowed her head, and quickly apologized, saying, “I’m sorry.” Sohn playfully responded, “You shouldn’t say things like that,” turning the awkward slip into a hilarious moment that had everyone in the studio laughing.
During the September 16 broadcast of the same program, Han So Hee also spoke about her enthusiasm for working with Choi Min-sik and revealed some behind-the-scenes details about her casting. Choi explained, “To be honest, there were several actresses being considered, but Han So Hee strongly expressed that she wanted to do it the most.” Han added, “I thought, ‘When else in my life will I ever get the chance to work with senior Choi Min-sik on a project?’ So I jumped into it without hesitation,” showing just how determined she was to take the role.
Han So Hee also talked about experiencing the catering-truck culture commonly found on Korean film sets. “I don’t have much experience working on movies, so the food truck setup was unfamiliar to me,” she said. “I realized how nice it was for all the actors to sit down and eat together.” She explained that sharing meals throughout filming helped create a special sense of camaraderie among the cast.
