Singer G-Dragon has caught the attention of netizens after “liking” a social media post featuring Japanese model and actress Kiko Mizuhara, with whom he was previously rumored to be in a relationship.
Recently, a photo of Kiko Mizuhara was uploaded to an online community with the caption, “Kiko Mizuhara, whom we all liked back then.” A screenshot showing G-Dragon’s official account liking the post quickly went viral. Fans reacted with various comments, such as “Did he press it by mistake?” and “It’s just another one of his habitual likes.” The two have been embroiled in dating rumors multiple times since 2010, though neither party ever officially confirmed the relationship.
G-Dragon is well-known for actively interacting with fan posts through his official account. He recently addressed his online activity on the web talk show Zip Daesung (Jipdaeseong), explaining:
“It started as self-promotion, but I ended up pressing ‘like’ out of gratitude for the support. Fans seem happy when they receive a like.” He added, “There’s no specific criteria; I just press it quickly whenever I have a spare moment.”
When fellow guest and close friend, actor Lee Soo-hyuk, joked about the possibility of accidental clicks, G-Dragon laughed and quipped, “My hands are just a bit big.”
Alongside the social media buzz, news of G-Dragon’s positive social impact was also highlighted. On July 30, the JUSPEACE Foundation announced that G-Dragon participated as an official ambassador and keynote speaker at the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee held at BEXCO in Busan. Appearing at the event with South Korean flag-inspired nail art, G-Dragon delivered a passionate message:
“Protecting heritage goes beyond preserving the past—it creates peace for the future.”
The JUSPEACE Foundation, established through G-Dragon’s music copyright donations, launched a global fundraising campaign for the protection of World Heritage sites in collaboration with UNESCO. A representative from the foundation stated:
“G-Dragon’s impact demonstrates the incredible synergy that occurs when an artist’s influence aligns with global public agendas.”
They added that they will continue to champion sustainable public-interest campaigns worldwide.
