The popularity of “Magnetic,” the title track from popular girl group ILLIT‘s debut mini-album, remains undiminished as it sets a brand-new historical record for K-pop.

According to stats released on October 18 by global music streaming platform Spotify, “Magnetic” reached a cumulative stream count of 900,351,494. ILLIT has now become the fastest K-pop group to achieve this streaming milestone.

“Magnetic” blends PluggnB and House genres, using the properties of a magnet as a metaphor for the magnetic attraction felt toward someone. Key features of the song include the catchy lyric “SUPER REAL ME” alongside its iconic finger choreography. Upon its release in March 2024, the track successfully charted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 as well as the U.K. Official Singles Chart Top 100.

Additionally, “Magnetic” earned a Silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and achieved a Triple Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for exceeding 300 million streams—demonstrating its massive global popularity.

ILLIT premiered the new song’s live performance for the first time during their encore concert, “ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥’ ENCORE in KOREA,” held over two consecutive days on October 17 and 18 at the INSPIRE Arena in Incheon.
