Actress Park Ha Sun has shared her thoughts and reasons behind leaving the radio show she hosted for six years.
On November 1, Park Ha Sun posted a lengthy handwritten letter on her personal social media account to announce her departure from SBS Power FM’s Park Ha Sun’s Cinetown.
Park Ha Sun began by writing, “It has already been nearly six years since I started hosting Cinetown, a radio program I had always wanted to try. Although I’m truly sad to leave, I’m stepping down from my position for the time being.”

Explaining the background behind her decision, Park Ha Sun revealed, “Currently, I’m appearing on three regular variety shows, one seasonal variety show, performing in a play, and filming a drama. Since I will be working on multiple additional projects through next autumn, I made the decision to stop doing radio, which requires a heavy live broadcast schedule.” She clarified that the decision was inevitable due to her densely packed acting schedule and broadcasting commitments.
Easing fans’ disappointment, she added, “I’m not quitting because I’ve grown tired of radio, so I look forward to the day we meet again. Until then, I will temporarily step down as DJ, but I will continue to live diligently in various other ways.”
She also did not forget to express her heartfelt gratitude to those who shared her journey over the years. Park Ha Sun thanked her manager, the production team, the station’s security staff and custodial crew, guests, as well as her husband Ryu Soo Young and their daughter. In particular, she mentioned a heartwarming anecdote about her daughter, who accompanied her to the station during live broadcasts on holidays and cheered her on, saying, “Being a DJ is cool, keep doing it.”
Addressing her listeners, she left a sincere message: “To our beloved ‘Terrius’ listeners who sent me warm words, telling me that I gave them comfort and strength—thank you so much for tuning in every morning at 11 AM. Thanks to all of you, I was able to spend these six years well.”
Actress EL has been named as the successor DJ to take over Cinetown following Park Ha Sun’s departure, and she will begin greeting listeners on November 2.
