While actress Cha Ye Ryun has issued a denial regarding school violence (bullying) allegations, claims of being mistreated by Cha Ye Ryun at a golf course in the past have surfaced online.
On November 3, a video titled “Cha Ye Ryun Counterattack: Exposure Posts Deleted, Comments Blocked / Whistleblower ‘Stays Quiet’, Sparks Fly Toward Joo Sang Wook” was uploaded to the YouTube channel Baek Eun-young’s Golden Time.

In a comment highlighted in the video, a netizen introduced themselves as a “former caddie” and revealed, “Around 2012–2013, I worked as a caddie for a team that included Cha Ye Ryun.”
The post was written on October 30, the day after the initial school violence allegations were uploaded. The author claimed that Cha Ye Ryun acted rudely back then, expressing annoyance and treating them with disrespect.
The commenter stated, “In my memory, she was ill-mannered. Many celebrities visited, and everyone had great manners, but the only ones I remember as being rude were Cha Ye Ryun and a male model.” They continued, “She arrived in a team with broadcast officials, but when she received a call from someone in the middle of the game, her tone completely shifted. Hearing her voice change as she said, ‘Oh, Director! I’m out playing golf. If you call me, of course I’ll come!’ gave me goosebumps.”
However, the facts of this post remain unverified. Baek Eun-young also noted, “This could be a one-sided claim or a completely false accusation.”
Meanwhile, on October 29, an exposure post titled “1985-born Actress Who Perpetrated School Violence, Please Stop Promoting” was uploaded to an online community. The writer claimed they suffered continuous bullying and physical assault while attending Junggye Middle School in Seoul.
The author alleged, “The beatings always took place in a building near the school. Whenever she came during break time and told me to stay behind today, she, her friends, and a group of bullies would take me to that building after school and beat me in the hallway. She viciously targeted my cheeks, causing my eardrum to rupture and my face to swell severely,” demanding an apology from the actress.
Although the post did not state a real name, as the post spread rapidly, Cha Ye Ryun was identified as the actress in question. Her agency, HB Entertainment, immediately dismissed the school violence allegations on October 30, stating, “Upon verification, the claims are groundless.”
Despite Cha Ye Ryun’s denial, the controversy continued as former classmates joined in with online posts alongside speculative comments. However, as testimony from other alumni claiming there was no bullying also surfaced, curiosity surrounding the truth of the allegations grew.
Subsequently, comment sections on Cha Ye Ryun’s social media channels and YouTube account, as well as her husband Joo Sang Wook’s social media, were flooded with malicious attacks and demands for explanations and apologies. The YouTube channel Cha-Jang-Geum Cha Ye-ryun took action by deleting certain malicious comments. The production team later stated that they were managing comments based on their own judgment without Cha Ye Ryun’s involvement, adding, “While facts are being verified, we will temporarily disable certain videos and comment sections to prevent the spread of indiscriminate rumors and personal attacks on the family.”
Amid this situation, Cha Ye Ryun—the key party to the suspicion—has yet to step forward personally to speak on the school violence allegations, and her agency has not released further statements or legal action plans, heightening public curiosity.
Meanwhile, Cha Ye Ryun previously released content enjoying a round of golf with her mother-in-law and husband, Joo Sang Wook. At the time, her mother-in-law expressed affection for her daughter-in-law, saying, “Thanks to my pretty daughter-in-law, I was invited to such a nice golf course today.” Looking at Joo Sang Wook, she jokingly bantered, “My son running away thinking he might catch a cold. Sigh, to think I gave birth to that. To think I gave birth to such an unmannered son.”
