The new KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Love Cloud (directed by Song Min Yeop, written by Tim Mad Rabbit) is a natural disaster fantasy romance. The story follows Kang Woo Joo (Song Joong Ki), an air traffic controller who can see the feelings of his ex-lovers reflected in the weather, and Ahn Ha Nui (Park Ji Hyun), a pilot cursed with emotions that directly control the atmospheric conditions. Set against a backdrop of love as fickle and unpredictable as the skies, their turbulent romance is expected to deliver laughter, excitement, and warm comfort.

The project is already generating massive buzz due to the reunion of its lead actors. Song Joong Ki and Park Ji Hyun previously starred together in the 2022 mega-hit Reborn Rich, which recorded a staggering peak viewership rating of 26.9%. Furthermore, this marks Song Joong Ki’s highly anticipated return to a KBS drama 11 years after his legendary, Grand Prize-winning performance in Descendants of the Sun (2016), which neared a 40% viewership rating.

In the series, Song Joong Ki portrays Kang Woo Joo, a former elite flight instructor turned air traffic controller. Once known as the “Mad Captain” whose icy presence could practically freeze a runway, Woo Joo abruptly quit flying and settled in Jeju Island—a place where he had no prior connections. While he functions as the ace of the control tower thanks to his quick judgment and fluent English, his secret hobby is lying completely still to observe the clouds. His peaceful, cloud-chasing routine is thrown into chaos by the sudden arrival of Ahn Ha Nui.

Park Ji Hyun plays Ahn Ha Nui, a workaholic pilot who takes on tasks everyone else avoids just to secure a promotion. However, following an unexpected accident, she falls under a curse where her inner emotions manifest as the actual weather. To make matters worse, a reunion with her ex-boyfriend, Kang Woo Joo, causes her long-buried feelings to violently stir again.

Commenting on the project, Song Joong Ki shared, “When I first read the script, I found the premise of Ha Nui’s emotions being bound to the clouds incredibly intriguing. I am delighted to work with Park Ji Hyun again and believe we can show great synergy.” He added, “It is also deeply meaningful to work with Director Song Min Yeop, whose drama Youth in May I have always greatly admired.”

Park Ji Hyun expressed her excitement as well, stating, “While reading the script, I laughed and cried, completely immersed in the story. I am truly happy to join Love Cloud and will do my best to grow alongside my character.” Love Cloud is scheduled to broadcast in 2027.
